About Tara Meekma
My husband Michael and I chose Lone Tree deliberately — we wanted to be surrounded by nature and still within minutes of a local coffee shop and the library. That combination sounds simple, but it's actually rare.

Over five years in, what I've learned is that Lone Tree is even better than we thought it would be and I can't imagine living anywhere else. This is a close-knit community where people look out for one another and make lifelong bonds. Residents take real pride in what they've built together - it's unique and the people who live here know it.

That's not something you can take for granted. It's something you have to choose to protect, every time a decision gets made about how this city grows.

I've spent eleven years in real estate, built on one principle: fiduciary duty. My clients' interests come first — always. Every day I help families analyze one of the biggest decisions of their lives — not just the house itself, but what surrounds it. The infrastructure, the development going in nearby, the long-term trajectory of the neighborhood. That analysis is exactly what evaluating a development proposal requires. The questions are the same: What does this do to property values? Does the infrastructure support it? How does it fit into the fabric of what's already here? I've been asking those questions professionally for over a decade.

Prior to real estate, I co-owned a restaurant and spent years marketing Denver for Visit Denver — so I understand what it's like to be a small business owner and what makes a city work from every angle.

What ties all of it together is this: I listen. Not just for votes but because understanding what matters to people is the only way to actually serve them. If you elect me, I will be reachable. I will communicate. I will treat every resident the way I treat my clients — with genuine attention, honest answers, and real follow-through.

I've spent the last year studying RidgeGate East, Hillcamp, and other major development proposals facing this city. I know the decision-making processes, the key relationships, and the details that matter. I've had hundreds of conversations with neighbors about what they want to protect. I'm the only District 2 candidate who has publicly engaged on the specific developments facing our city. Residents deserve a Council member who will ask hard questions, demand answers, and hold every proposal to Lone Tree's adopted community standards.

Don't mistake approachable for lightweight. I know this city, I know this work, and I'm ready to do it.

Keep Lone Tree Special. Growth With Intention.
