Keep
Lone Tree
Special

Thoughtful Growth. Strong Community.

The founding residents of Lone Tree knew what they had was something unique — a city set by the bluffs and mesa tops, built with intention and shaped by strong principles. A place that balances natural beauty, thoughtful planning, and a real sense of community.

That didn’t happen by accident — and it’s something worth continuing with care.

Lone Tree is at a turning point. The decisions ahead — on RidgeGate East, Hillcamp, the Entertainment District, and how and where we grow — will define what this city becomes for generations.

That brings real opportunity.

I’m Tara Meekma, and I’m running for City Council in District 2 because I believe residents should play a central role in shaping what comes next. Growth should reflect the people who live here — the neighbors who chose this city, who use its trails and parks, and who care deeply about its future.

My perspective doesn’t come from a commission seat or political background — it comes from working directly with residents and understanding how decisions impact their daily lives. With more than a decade in real estate, I’ve helped people navigate complex, long-term decisions and I bring that same practical, real-world lens to city leadership.

Lone Tree belongs to its residents, and we have a real opportunity to shape its future thoughtfully — together.

A Shared Vision for Lone Tree

I believe Lone Tree can grow thoughtfully — protecting what makes it special while planning responsibly for the future. These priorities guide everything I do as a candidate. Click on the posts below to learn more.

Tara Meekma City Council Candidate (District 2)

Who is Tara Meekma?

I’m not a career politician — I’m a neighbor with a practical, real-world perspective on how these decisions impact people’s daily lives.

With more than a decade in real estate, I’ve helped people navigate complex, long-term decisions — weighing tradeoffs, asking the right questions, and focusing on what truly works.

I listen, I show up, and I’m ready to represent you.
